Hi, I’m Karen. I’m a professional technical writer living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I grew up with the first Mac and desktop publishing and progressed to high-tech documentation in 1990 where I tackled writing the product documentation for a complex suite of software tools for analog and digital designers at Valid Logic Systems. Valid was subsequently bought by Cadence Design Systems. The opportunity at Valid/Cadence became the basis for an entire career in technical writing. Along the way, I learned enough Unix to be dangerous, became proficient with FrameMaker, and continued to take a variety of technical classes from digital design to C and Java programming.

This website is a place where I write about technical writing topics of interest to me.

The views expressed here are solely my own and not those of my current, past, or future employers.
